الكتاب يحتوي على خلاصة الخبرة المهنية للمؤلف والتي جمعها خلال خمسة وثلاثين عاماً، والمبنية على أسس علمية محكمة، ومقصورة على تجاربه الفعلية، كي تلامس الواقع الذي نعيشه، ويؤسس الكتاب لتيار معماري محلي مرتبط ببيئتنا وقضايانا الخاصة، ويعتبر إضافة قيمة للمكتبة العربية كمرجع يتناول علوماً هندسية وقضايا معمارية محلية هامة، إذ لا يتناول -بالتفصيل- إحدى تقنيات البناء المتوافقة وحسب، ولا يطرح رؤى وفكراً معمارياً فلسفياً رصيناً وحسب، بل يقدم منظومة متكاملة تؤسس لمعمار محلي في بيئتنا العربية، ويقدمها من خلال تصاميم ومشروعات واقعية، وهو محتوى لم تحظ به المكتبة العربية منذ أن قدم أستاذنا حسن فتحي أيقونته الشهيرة في كتابه “قصة قريتين” باللغة الإنجليزية وتولت مؤسسة أخبار اليوم ترجمته للعربية.
يعد الكتاب الأول من نوعه في العالم العربي- ككتاب غير مترجم- في تناوله لتقنية تصنيع الطوب من التربة المضغوطة من جميع جوانبها، الفنية، والتطبيقية، والاقتصادية، ويناقش التحديات التي تواجهها، ويقترح سيناريوهات للتغلب عليها بناء على الخبرة الطويلة للمؤلف من الممارسة على أرض الواقع.
